This Guy is So Kool!

Good Service yesterday, although we had singers and media people out sick. Somethin' is goin' around here. In the 2nd service we opened with the old Tomlin tune that Parkhill really likes, You Are Holy. We didn't say anything we just started singing. One by one people starting standing and singing with us. After the meet and greet time, we sang a new one by Paul Baloche and Michael W. Smith, A New Hallelujah, an awesome song about the church standing up for what she believes in. The congregation seemed to really enjoy this song.
Salvation by Charlie Hall was next. Joseph, our youth pastor, played a heavy distored electric guitar on this one. KOOL!! The last two were Mighty to Save and The Stand by Hillsong. Two great songs that we've been doing a couple of months now that are really catching on.

We had an awesome Bible study last night at my house. I'm loving getting to know this group of people better. Believers encouraging believers-that's what it's all about.

My friend, Doug, started Orchard Church three years ago and the church is growing and doing awesome! The church got some national attention this week, when they put up a billboard on the interstate. Click here for a news report from KCAL in LA, California! It has also been shown in Arizona, Ohio, and Tennessee!

We had a great day at Parkhill. We introduced "A New Hallelujah" at the end of the service. Thanks so much to Jessica Salvo for singing, "Beautiful, Beautiful". It was...well Beautiful!
I also began choir practice yesterday. For the past 6 years, we've done a major production at Easter. We decided to forgo the Easter drama. We have so many attend at Easter and they never see what Parkhill usually does on a regular Sunday service. The choir will sing 4-6 songs on Palm Sunday.

I lead a small group at my home on Sunday nights. We are in the 3rd week of "The Truth Project" by Focus on the Family. If you've not seen or lead this series, you need to ck it out. We had 6 couples and kids which turned out to be 30 people. (So much for calling it a small group!)
I also had two people in my small group volunteer to help out in the Praise and Worship Ministry. I really like it when the Lord does things like that!

Also, pray for my dad, he's traveling today to Oregon. He surprised us on Sat. Read more here!

We finally our BOSE system. It sound's pretty awesome. Now I thinking about our wireless mics. Shure and Sennheiser are giving rebates for 698-806 MHz systems, but I think churches are still gonna have to spend some extra cash to change over. Fortunately, we got some more time. They extended the date to June 12th.

We had a great day of worship, Sunday!

Kyle's Eyes

Kyle had surgery on his eye's about a year and half ago because of his lazy eye. Dr. Schlomer strengthened the muscles around both of his eyes. In December, we took him back and the Dr. prescribed glasses for him and said to come back in a month. He couldn't see out of his right eye. We got the glasses and scheduled another appt. for Jan.

Last week, when the assistant began to check Kyle's eyes, he was struggling to see out of his right eye again. The doc came in and said that everything looked fine. I said "I don't think so, because Kyle still couldn't see out of the right eye!" The doc said he'd check it again. After he saw what Kyle was doing with the right eye, he checked the prescription and it was WRONG! He apologized and said that we needed to get a different lens for the right eye and that we needed to patch the good (left) eye.

The optical center said that they would order the new lenses. So, we went back today and waited for them to put them into Kyle's frames. When they were done, the lady told us that the lens was in the frame but was not shaped right, so they are going to order another lens. They should be ready in a another week. So a new lens is in, but the frames might come apart.

When we got home tonight, I put a piece of paper in front of Kyle's good eye. We held up some large letters about 8-10 ft away from Kyle. He's cocking his head to one side to see the letters but he can read them. In the Dr. office he couldn't see them at all. He can also see letters right in front of him and he can write his name with the good eye patched, so that's a good sign too.

Just pray that his right eye stregthens while his left is patched.

Hope this Sunday Setlist find you doin' awesome! Thanks so much to Tom Munch for helping us out as we transisition to the BOSE system. I ordered our BOSE system last Monday, but because of paperwork hassels, we did not get our system by Sunday, so Tom let us use his again yesterday. They sound great. For some reason, our electric guitar player, who is usually on the drums said he could not hear his guitar during the service. Don't know exactly why but we'll figure it out! Overall, the sound is awesome!!
